A ferris wheel is one big circle and so is life when you think about it. Life has its ups and downs and can go around in endless circles. It's great to be at the top looking down sometimes but then again it can be so scary. I stood before this ferris wheel and looked up and it took my breath away. It was beckoning me to come and stand at its footstep and smiled at me with its bright lights.
You used to have dreams of setting the world on fire
All you want now is peace of mind
You do your dreaming in traffic jams
You do your running in shopping malls
You do your breathing the best you can
Between car pools and cell phone calls
Who cares, you'll never live in Paris
So what, you'll never travel by Lear
How do some of us learn what matters
While others never get to hear
such a beautiful racket, it whispers and roars
The bitter and sweet, between the truces and the wars
The noise and the quiet, the courage and the fear
And all of the wisdom between a smile and a tear
hold on, hold on...
Now I'm off to meditate and find some peace of mind in between the beautiful racket of trains, car alarms, and my chihuahua snoring. BTW, I have been to Paris, never travelled by Lear--yet! I loathe shopping malls! I do my running chasing after my dog. My job does inspire! Yes, a few regrets and lots of chances missed but I don't do my breathing between car pools and cell phone calls. I do my dreaming by candlelight, reading, music, blogging, and writing in my moleskine. At 46, I have finally realized what matters and I consider myself blessed.
It's OFFICIAL!!! Very dear friends of mine Kraig & Michele are parents!!! All of her friends are family are over joyed with tears of happiness. Michele and Kraig will be picking up their newborn Redding Kate Jankowski on Thursday. This has been a long time coming. My list of things to buy is growing! Can't wait to go to the baby store. I also plan on stopping by the music store and picking up a special CD. Lots to celebrate and be thankful for. Now off to get some more kleenex.
Crazy dream last night....I was at some function wearing a nice black dress with straps and the straps on my right shoulder got caught on something and before I knew it I had a wardrobe malfunction. I made a beeline for the bathroom and then I woke up! Thankfully, it was only a dream! Must be some stupid post- superbowl hype about the boring Stones half-time show. Not that I wanted Janet back on stage but I much would have preferred U2 or Coldplay. Think next year, I'll do what Vicks did! :-)
Quickie: Immerse yourself in something beautiful today. Your aesthetic side needs to be fed. Overview: Honor the unpredictability of life by doing something delicious, silly and spontaneous. Surprise your old college roommate with a singing telegram. Eat ice cream for lunch. Put some color in your life! This afternoon, my aesthetic side will be fed as I am going to see Cavalia and very much looking forward to the performance. I have a hot date too! My nephew Martin! :-) Perhaps, will go and grab some ice cream after the show and I'll be sure to wear something bright and colorful. Kind of late to surprise my old roomate with a singing telegram as she lives in New York but I've just sent her a card with an old memento that I'm sure will have her in stitches. I guess sometimes these forecasts are true...usually I read them and laugh at their predictions.
