Flamenco Sketches

Music: Kora/River of Stars, Ottmar Liebert

Mood: Happy (home on the Tuesday afternoon thanks to Edouard).

Drinking: Tomato juice (my new fav bev...thought about adding vodka but didn't)

Here it is Tuesday afternoon and so far so good from the storm. I couldn't sleep last night in anticipation of what today might bring but thankfully just much needed rain and a chance to try and get caught up on some unpacking...just as soon as I get off this computer! Been blasting iTunes today and the beautiful Flamenco Sketches by Miles Davis was playing previously. The man was a master!

The dog days of summer are upon us with August here. The heat and humidity have been oppressive but we're getting a nice reprieve today thanks to the storm.

Ok, time to light some more candles, turn off the 'puter off, pump up the volume, brew some afternoon tea and get on a tear of cleaning out some of this clutter in my computer room. Hopefully the rain will let up a bit this eve as I'd like to take a quick walk around the neighborhood.

I'm glad that you had an afternoon off enjoying yourself - doing things that you wanted to do.

Y'all must be getting soaked - I read that Houston set a record for rain.

We're getting our summer monsoons here - strong thunderstorms. I love the way the desert smells after a rain. Thank goodness I have air conditioning (refrigerated air) instead of evaporative (swamp) cooling like most folks here have.

I hear you on the house "chores." I'm considering painting my "vanilla-like" walls indoors with some strong southwestern colors.

I love candles too!

Hope Edouard has passed without leaving any damage. Good to hear you had some "free" time to spend for yourself ;) Rain brings good things as well!
I heard on the radio that it's going to be a rough weather here tomorrow. Hm..., ok, we'll see...

While I don't want a hurricane, it would be nice to have some rain. Or some warmth! It's been in the low 70's, and windy, here practically all summer and getting really old. We're all so tired of being cold.
