In heaven
Back from my Oregon vacation that began in Portland, followed by a scenic drive down the beautiful Oregon coast, then over to Eugene and back up to Portland. More photos and blog to follow but special thank you to Cheryl and her dog Cali for their wonderful hospitality this past week. Here I am in heaven...High atop highway 101 @ West Shelter, Cape Perpetua (Day Use) where on a clear day one can see over 70 miles of coastline.

Blurred
...just like my past week of vacation was. Back to work for three days and then off to Santa Fe to meet up with fanmencas. My first vacation getaway in over a year since I bought the house. Thank goodness will have another week off in July and then a three day weekend in August to host Ms. Linda. Usually, I don' t look forward to summer because of the unbearable heat...(usually go into hibernation) but this one should be nicer to bear. Tomorrow is June 1st and the first day of hurricane season. UGH! I sure hope Houston is spared a bit this time, not that I wish a hurricane on anyone else but not ready for another Ike.

Post-Spring Break
My niece and I had a wonderful trip to NYC (her High school graduation gift). We lucked out with the weather as it was relatively warm considering that days before temps were in the teens and after we left temps plummeted again bringing sleet and snow and thousands of stranded passengers at the airport. Now, it's back to reality...WORK! I'm so thankful that working in education affords a week off to enjoy some much needed R & R and more importantly some family bonding time. I have one more trip to make good on a promised gift as my youngest nephew-Martin will be the next graduate--but I have some time still as he has a few years to go. I have so enjoyed spending/spoiling my niece and nephews with their gifts as I know it will be a gift they will remember for a lifetime. Also, my hope is that these first trips will be the first of many travels in their lifetime. I have been blessed to be able to travel within the U.S., and abroad as well.
