Calling all Frogs!

They say you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince!
Auditions still open, Frogs!

I came across this earlier and chuckled when I read it. Heck, I can't even find a frog to kiss and the only one eager for my kisses these days is Chulo.

A new year and a new photo. Bono from U2 sang in a song from the latest cd, "Don’t look before you laugh, look ugly in a photograph, flash bulbs reveal purple irises the camera can’t see". Well, usually I don't photograph well but for once this photo which was taken in November was a decent one. Of course standing next to my beautiful niece makes me look better, don't you think?! I didnt think to cut out the background scenery, which is in my parent's front yard and the city is repairing the streets.

"Amor Real" ("True Love")

Univision Debuts 'Amor Real' - an Unforgettable Love Story of Epic Proportions; Sweeping Tale Set in Turbulent 19th Century Mexico

My roomate's been making fun of me watching a Mexican Soap Opera because I'm always making fun of my parents who are watching "telenovelas". I started watching this soap because there's been so much talk about it, which is simply stunning as it is set in the mid-1800's and is considered by some as Mexico's "Gone with the Wind". It boasts a lavish set with stunning locations and painstakingly detailed costumes. This novela transports the viewer into another era--an era that I never knew existed in Mexico which is one of aristocracy. The sets and costumes of this spectacular period are absolutely beautiful.

The production, led by internationally acclaimed producer Carla Estrada, was two years in the making and required the participation of over 1,000 actors, extras, technicians and artisans and is considered one of the most ambitious projects in the history of the novela genre... and may I dare say puts Gone with the Wind to shame.

YES, I'm hooked onto Channel 45 @ 8:00 p.m.

Poor Martha

This was sent to me via an email and while funny I agree with Tim.

Tim Allen comedian, had this to say about Martha Stewart:

"Boy, I feel safer now that she's behind bars. O.J. & Kobe are
walking around; Osama BinLaden and some of those Enron thieves too, but they
take the one woman in America willing to cook and clean and work in the
yard and haul her ass to jail."

Eyes Wide Shut!

Music: Longing, Ottmar Liebert
Mood: Tired (longing...for a restful sleep)

Woke up at 3:30 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep till 5:30 a.m. Just in time for my alarm clock to go off at 6:00 a.m. :-( I hate nights like those when a stillness in the air hangs--right above your bed AND then on top of that you can hear your dog snoring soundly! So today was a long day and I'm dragging my azzzzzz!

Work has been rushed these past two weeks due to registration. So many lost souls out there and I realize I can't save them all but that's o.k. I do my best but it does drain me at times. Things should get back to normal next week. YEAH! On a side note...I moved into my new office which is PRIMO and not to brag but I have arrived! Never in a million years did I dream that when I was a student some years back that I would come back to work for the college where I got my start and give back to others. Occasionally, I glance at my Master's degree hanging in my office and look twice when I realize that's my name up there. Yes, I'm lucky to have a job that I enjoy doing...even if it does keep me up at times. However, I did manage to read several pages on a book I've been trying to finish for some time...but don't ask me what I read! lol

How Much is Too Much...

Here's a perfect example of how much is too much!

The Federal Government has no money for programs like these
"With Flowers' help, the women's shelter is starting a men's advisory council to deal with projects and fund raising. The shelter is facing stiff funding cuts from state and federal grants."but there is plenty of money to fund the security dollars to protect our president for the numerous balls and parties to celebrate his second term in office.

Close Call

My parents house/garage. Posted by Hello

My parents had experienced some hairy moments late in the evening on Thursday 1/13/05. They were awakened by what they thought was gun fire and looked out the window only to find flames shooting out of the neighbors garage. While it was a close call...my parents house was not damaged although the back shed was cinged a bit as was the grass and fence. Unfortunately, the neighbors garage and apartment garage were destroyed. Fortunately, those items can be replaced but the loss of life cannot and thankfully, no one was hurt. The incident made the television news on Friday morning. A reminder to us all that danger is only a heartbeat away.

It was great to see Ethan's mom back at work today and smiling. I know where Ethan gets half of his beautiful smile from.
He is just such a cutie pie! I could just squeeze him like a little teddy bear!

May this be the last of his hurdles towards a full recovery. BTW, the monkey is called AC (angry cancer fighting monkey) & was given to Ethan by the docs at Texas Children.

I wish I could say these were my words but they are borrowed from another song by Tish Hinojosa. So lovely to look at but they can cut you very deep.
